R.I.P Denise

We didn’t know each other well. Occasionally we found ourselves at the birthday parties of each of our children. And definitely at the school meetings and awards assemblies. We had a connection. She was the mother of two, just like me. Her child went to the same school just like mine. Her daughter is the same age and was in the same class as my daughter. She was a wife, just like me. We only talked during those encounters, but her life will have an everlasting impact on me. Denise was a young wife and mother who lost her battle with Cancer this week. My heart is heavy for her and her family. Her little girl, who is graduating 8th grade this year, her husband who will be raising two children without his beautiful wife. Denise, was a writer (spiritual writer), she seemed so courageous,  bold and fearless. Although we didn’t get the opportunity to get to know each other better, I will never forget her.  I can’t imagine how she felt or what she thought knowing she would have to leave her family. But, she made me realize what I wanted from life. She made me (even more so) want to love my children with all that I have and show them that everyday. f you are blessed to have a family, please love and cherish them. Her life has touched many. I ask that you all pray for the loving family Denise left behind. Let her life touch you in some way also.  Tomorrow is not promised, so we have to make the most of our todays.

Thank you Denise. I am grateful to have met you. May your love continue to live on through your children and family. Your presence will be sorely missed.
